Kevin Kilgour is an English teacher at Ida B. Wells-Barnett High School. He grew up in Wichita, Kansas, and is the youngest of three siblings. Some of his favorite things to do in his free time are reading in coffee shops, and playing soccer. He also enjoys playing and watching basketball. Kilgour attended Emory University and received his masters' degree in Education at Johns Hopkins University. He enjoys teaching at IBW because he feels the students are honest and respectful. He believes that English is a way for people to find their voice and the words to express themselves. “There's something there that is really compelling;, even for people who are like ‘Oh I don’t like reading…You still have a story that means something really important to you probably. I think there's something really powerful about that,” said Kilgour.
