  • What to do if your child is sick!

    Llewellyn really wants to help keep you and your child/children happy and healthy this school year. As a reminder, back to school can also mean back to increased exposure to common germs and illnesses.   provides guidance about when to keep your students home, and when they can return to school.

     

    Please notify the school if your student is absent due to illness. You can call the attendance line at (503) 916-6256 or send an email to Mark, mrobb@pps.net or Kellie, kgrunde@pps.net.  If you know your child will be out for a few days according to their symptoms, you can report multiple days at once instead of calling daily. Also, the school nurse is always available if you have any questions or concerns about your student’s symptoms.

  • Adding a Pick Up Contact for Your Student in ParentVUE

    Do you need to add or remove an authorized pick-up person (also known as an emergency contact) to your student's profile in ParentVUE?  This link will walk you through the process. .  Please notify your child's teacher of any changes to the pick up routine.  Contact Mark at mrobb@pps.net with any questions.

  • Excusing Your Child's Absence

    • Parents / Guardians: PLEASE be sure to include the office in any and all communication regarding your student being absent. Teachers don’t always have time to forward emails to us and they are only able to mark Absent or Tardy in attendance. They cannot put in an excused absence (Vacation, Appointment, Family Emergency, etc.). Only the office can!  Email mrobb@pps.net (Mark) OR leave a message on the School Attendance Line at 503-916-6256. In all cases, please be sure to leave a REASON for your student's absence.

  • West Sylvan Eighth Grader Wields a Mighty Pen

    Even as a small child, Miranda Yesser possessed a keen understanding of the mercenary nature of the publishing industry. 

    According to her one-page, tongue-in-cheek author bio, which hangs on a clothesline in English teacher Dr. Holly Graham’s colorful classroom, “Yesser began writing books at a young age, then trying to sell them to her family for 5 dollars a copy.”

  • The Arts Tax in Action: The HeART of 国产真实迷奸 is Still Beating

    Students who took their first steps into PPS kindergarten classrooms in 2014 – the year 国产真实迷奸’s first-ever arts education tax went into effect – are now thriving sophomores.

    Evan Sampson is one of those sophomores, and he will have a chance to share his story at this year’s HeART of 国产真实迷奸, a showcase spotlighting the artistic accomplishments of some PPS’s most talented students.

    The two-week celebration of creativity will take place from April 16-28 at the 国产真实迷奸 Art Museum. All exhibits and performances are free and open to the public.

  • Lincoln & Grant Constitution Teams to Compete Nationally

    This weekend, the Lincoln and Grant high school constitution teams will compete in the annual We the People: The Citizen and the Constitution National Finals in Washington, D.C. 

    Now in its fifth decade, the event brings together students from all 50 states for a series of mock congressional hearings on everything from the Constitutional Convention of 1787 to the separation of powers and the future of democracy. 

    The Lincoln and Grant constitution teams, under the instruction of Patrick Magee-Jenks and Angela DiPasquale respectively, have long histories of taking home trophies on both the state and national level.
