Caitlin Toohey

Caitlin Toohey is an engineering teacher at Ida B. Wells High School and previously worked as a material engineer. She enjoys being around her colleagues and thinks they are all “friendly and fun.” Outside of school, Toohey loves to run, she has run three 50ks, five marathons, and multiple half-marathons! Toohey grew up in Akron-Canton, Ohio and attended college at Ohio State. Her first degree was in history, then she worked in accounting before returning to school to get her bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in material engineering. She gets a lot of inspiration from her past teachers who made learning memorable, and she remains in contact with them. She is a kind, inspiring teacher and continues to help students grow and succeed.
