Brady Bennon

Brady Bennon is a history teacher at Ida B Wells. He has been an educator for 16 years, including one year of teaching in Mexico. Bennon grew up in Tucson, Arizona and attended Whitman College in Washington. He earned his bachelor's degree in politics and environmental studies and minored in Spanish. Bennon worked for a non-profit organization for the conservation of salmon, which taught him about journalism and lobbying, and inspired him to start working with young people. Bennon wants his students to learn they can make a difference. In his class he focuses on social justice strategies for making positive change and examples of people who have made a difference in the past. Outside of school, he enjoys soccer, rafting, fly-fishing, and growing peppers and tomatoes so he can make his own homemade salsas.
