Keith Higbee (He/Him)

Keith Higbee is an English teacher and is also in charge of the yearbook program at Ida B. Wells. Higbee has been a teacher here since 2000. Before his teaching career he attended the University of Washington and the University of Oregon. He received his master’s in English at St. John’s University in Queens, and received another master’s degree in teaching at NYU. Although Higbee has lived in Oregon for many years now, he was born and raised in California. When Higbee is not teaching, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters, as well as his three cats. In fact, he loves cats so much that he wears a cat shirt every Friday. Higbee’s most valuable advice is “End your high school relationship before going to college because you need to give yourself space to grow.”
