Marie Pearson

Marie Pearson has been teaching at Ida B. Wells for 11 years. Before coming to Wells she taught at Mckay High School in Salem, as well as Neil Armstrong Middle School in Forest Grove, and Lake Oswego High School briefly as a temporary teacher. She also taught at the Multnomah Art Center for three years. Pearson worked in investment for five years before moving to education. She wanted to teach art because she loves being in an art studio all day and loves being around creative people. She got a BFA degree from the University of Minnesota, and double majored in Studio Art and Art History. She earned a master’s degree in Art Education from Lewis and Clark. Pearson likes to rock climb, hike, swim and do handstands in her free time. She is working on a children's book, too.
