Get Involved

  • The Safe Routes to School program relies on parent volunteers and are a vital connection to increasing the number of students who walk, bike or roll to school. Parent volunteers work to organize events, act as walking school bus and bike train leaders, spread the word to other parents and school staff, act as liaisons between the Safe Routes to School coordinator and their child’s school and much, much more!

The PPS Safe Routes to School program hopes more parents (and grandparents too!) will get involved and act as Parent Champions for their schools as we see the tremendous benefits students and communities experience when we walk and roll to school.

Contact Shane Nevius, PPS Safe Routes to School Coordinator, at snevius@pps.net to find out if your school has a champion and how you can help!
