  • Students walk to school holding a banner reading "Walk Bike & Roll In Honor of Ruby Bridges - James John Elementary"

Walk and Roll to School events aim to promote active and sustainable transportation options for students, encouraging them to walk, bike, skate, or use other non-motorized modes of transportation to get to school. Overall, Walk and Roll to School events are much more than just a one-time activity; they are part of a broader movement towards promoting active lifestyles, fostering community engagement, and creating a safer and greener environment. Many events have free incentives available for schools or school organizations to offer students who participate. Contact Shane Nevius (snevius@pps.net), PPS Safe Routes to School Coordinator, for more information on organizing an event at your school and ordering incentives.

Is your school not able to celebrate an event on the day listed? No problem! Schools are encouraged to celebrate events on days that work best for their community.
