Information for Current TAG Students

Classroom teachers assess a student's level and rate in all subject areas and modify the instruction to provide appropriate content challenge and instructional pacing.”
Student’s Level – How much a student already knows about a topic or concept.
Student’s Rate – How quickly a student learns new information.
If you have a question about your child and the TAG program, please talk to your classroom teacher. They are the best resource for discussing how to best meet the needs of our TAG children.
Interested in TAG for your Child?
The process of nominating children for the TAG program begins with the parent and the classroom teacher. Please discuss the subject with your classroom teacher.To nominate a child for TAG, parents must get the identification forms from the school office. You will be asked to evaluate your child based on what you see at home. Fill out the parent section of the form and give to the classroom teacher. The classroom teacher will also evaluate the student and attach work samples to the identification form.
The form will be submitted to the TAG Office, and testing will be scheduled. Someone from the TAG office will test your child. Results from that testing will be sent to the school within 3-4 weeks. The school will look at the testing results, work samples, and parent/teacher evaluations and make a recommendation for each student. The TAG office will review each application and make a final decision. Families will be notified 6 weeks after testing regarding the results.

¿Está interesado en TAG para su hijo?
El proceso de nominación de los niños para el programa TAG comienza con los padres y el maestro del salón de clases. Por favor discuta el tema con su maestro de clase.
Para nominar a un niño para TAG, los padres deben obtener los formularios de identificación en la oficina de la escuela. Se le pedirá que evalúe a su hijo según lo que vea en casa. Complete la sección para padres del formulario y entrégueselo al maestro de la clase. El maestro del salón de clases también evaluará al estudiante y adjuntará muestras de trabajo al formulario de identificación.
El formulario se enviará a la Oficina TAG y se programarán las pruebas. Su hijo será evaluado por alguien de la oficina de TAG. Los resultados de esa prueba se enviarán a la escuela dentro de 3 a 4 semanas. La escuela observará los resultados de las pruebas, las muestras de trabajo y las evaluaciones de padres/maestros y hará una recomendación para cada estudiante. La oficina de TAG revisará cada solicitud y tomará una decisión final. Las familias serán notificadas 6 semanas después de la prueba con respecto a los resultados.
