  • Donna Eckford is Vernon's School Health Assistant. Donna attends to student first aid and administers medications everyday from 8:30am-2:45pm.

Vernon's School Nurse is Rob Nicholson, and he'll be returning for his seventh year at Vernon.  He's in the Office on Wednesdays and can be reached anytime during the day.

Vernon School takes its commitment to good health very seriously.  Our office staff is regularly trained to administer medications to students and give basic first aid.  Medications (prescription and non-prescription) that need to be given during the school day require a signed authorization from the parent.  Medications must be received in original containers with the doctor's name and prescription and dosage information clearly visible.  Please contact the School Office for more information.

A defibrillator machine was installed at Vernon School in 2011.  Staff has been trained to give basic first aid, CPR, and to use the defibrillator to assist in an emergency until paramedics arrive.

Vernon School is committed to the safety and welfare of our students and staff. Vernon School has an Emergency Response Plan that is updated and reviewed each year with staff. Emergency Drills occur on a monthly basis.
