Spanish is offered at Sellwood as a two-year sequence in the seventh and eighth grades. By successfully completing two years of middle school Spanish, students receive two high school credits and are eligible to enter their third year high school Spanish. For those students continuing onto the International Baccalaureate (IB) program at Cleveland, four years of study is required for the IB certificate in Spanish.

Beginning in the 2020-21 school year, we will offer French classes at Sellwood.  Students will follow the same two-year credit sequence discussed above, to enter French 3 at the High School level.  8th graders beginning French in 2020-21 will enter French 2 in their ninth grade year.
