The 国产真实迷奸 Public Schools Visioning initiative continued to benefit from an outpouring of participation in February and early March, as students, families, educators, administrators, central office staff and community members weighed in on three major focus areas at community meetings across the city.

Each of the community meetings, three of which were hosted at PPS high schools (Jefferson, Roosevelt and Wilson, with a fourth meeting snowed out at Grant at Marshall), offered opportunities for stakeholders to be a central part of developing the long-term vision for the district.

"One of the things that was most inspiring was to see people who came to the January community meetings join us again in February and March,” said Jonathan Garcia, PPS Chief of Engagement and the district’s team lead for Visioning. “It was a clear sign that our community understands how important this process is to the future of education in 国产真实迷奸.

PPS staff also facilitated Visioning exercises on-site at a number of events, including the district’s International Youth Leadership Conference held at 国产真实迷奸 State University. And a PPS delegation, including Board of Education Chair Rita Moore and Superintendent Guadalupe Guerrero, visited Life Change Church, one of the ways the Visioning team reached out to faith-based communities in February.

Participants in the February-March community meetings shared their preferences and perspectives across three main questions:

    • Graduate Portrait: What knowledge, skills, dispositions and mindsets will students need to be successful in their lives and careers?
    • Adult Portrait: What knowledge, skills, dispositions and mindsets will adults need in order to support students to attain the Graduate Portrait?
    • System Shifts: How does the entire district need to shift in order to support student success?

Those who could not make it to an in-person meeting had the opportunity to go through the same exercises through an online portal made available in all six PPS-supported languages.

Next up for the Visioning team: the third, two-day meeting of the Guiding Coalition, which will take place March 15-16 at Wilson High School.
