Principal's Message

  • Dear Demo Community;      

    It is with great pride and excitement that I welcome you to the 2022-2023 school year! Given the chance to lead “The School of Champions” is such an honor that I don't take lightly. On behalf of the Jefferson High School team, we want to say “Welcome back!”

    As we begin this new school year, we will be sure to send communication regarding our updates:

    • Attendance Policy & Support

    • Academic Policy & Support

    • Drug & Alcohol Policy & Support 

    • And a host of other topics as we begin the year

    As a learning community, we will reinforce rigor, respect, and responsibility to your students. As a community of educators, we are driven by the individual success and growth of our students. Our staff takes great pride and honor in educating, inspiring, and motivating your student(s).

    As the principal of Jefferson High, Middle College for Advanced Studies, I believe that it is my responsibility to maintain and to continue to build a supportive and collaborative spirit at our school.  Together as a school community, we will build on the traditions of the past and meet the challenges of the future in innovative and exciting ways.

  • PPS Senior Program Manager of Energy & Sustainability Invited to White House Summit

    When Aaron Presberg first got the email from the White House, he thought it was some sort of prank. 

    Then he shared the message with a few colleagues who assured him that it was no joke, and the exciting reality that he had been invited to Washington, D.C. to present at the White House’s first-ever Summit for Sustainable and Healthy K–12 School Buildings and Grounds started to sink in.

  • West Sylvan Eighth Grader Wields a Mighty Pen

    Even as a small child, Miranda Yesser possessed a keen understanding of the mercenary nature of the publishing industry. 

    According to her one-page, tongue-in-cheek author bio, which hangs on a clothesline in English teacher Dr. Holly Graham’s colorful classroom, “Yesser began writing books at a young age, then trying to sell them to her family for 5 dollars a copy.”

    It might be time to scoop those copies up. Miranda recently received honorable mention in the annual for her short story, “.”

  • The Arts Tax in Action: The HeART of 国产真实迷奸 is Still Beating

    Students who took their first steps into PPS kindergarten classrooms in 2014 – the year 国产真实迷奸’s first-ever arts education tax went into effect – are now thriving sophomores.

    Evan Sampson is one of those sophomores, and he will have a chance to share his story at this year’s HeART of 国产真实迷奸, a showcase spotlighting the artistic accomplishments of some PPS’s most talented students.

    The two-week celebration of creativity will take place from April 16-28 at the 国产真实迷奸 Art Museum. All exhibits and performances are free and open to the public.
