Ally Week:
Ainsworth students celebrate ALLY week in the fall. ~“Someone who does something helpful when they see someone hurt”; or as Webster definition is “one that is associated with another as a helper”. Students work with the school counselor and create posters about being an ally.

Art Fair:
Each spring, relatives and friends are invited to view children's works of art. Led by Ainsworth art teacher, Lynn Malzahn, this is an evening featuring all of the special art work the children create during their 1/2 year of art instruction.

Buckaroo:
This traditional carnival event, sponsored by the PTA and entirely volunteer-driven, is a chance for the entire school community and their families to have fun while supporting Ainsworth. Usually scheduled in October, Buckaroo features bouncy houses, games like Milk the (wooden) Cow and Rope the Calf, and food and beverage stands. The gym hosts sideshow games for little ones. The Cakewalk is held in the auditorium and counts among the most popular highlights.

Band/Choir: ?
Students in 4th and 5th grade may elect to play an instrument in the school band and/or sing in the school choir. Students who want to participate in band may choose from a variety of brass and woodwind instruments, including: clarinet, flute, trumpet, trombone, and baritone horn. Fourth grade brass and woodwind players meet separately during the school day on Thursdays, and the fifth grade band meets all together during the school day on Mondays. The 4th and 5th grade choir meets after school on Wednesdays from 2:20-3:00. Both the band and the choir perform at various events throughout the school year, and all 4th and 5th graders are warmly encouraged to join band and choir! Crossing Guards:
4th and 5th graders have the opportunity to be crossing guards in the mornings and afternoons. Forms are available in the office.

Enrichment Activities:
Aftercare and PTA sponsor a number of before and after school enrichment opportunities for Ainsworth students. to see the updated list.

Field Day:
During the last weeks of school, PE teacher Sheri Jorgenson, and a hard-working group of parent volulnteers lead the children through an obstacle course, frog toss, and races for a fun- filled day of exercise and activity.

5th Grade Ceremony:
An annual graduation tradition to celebrate the success of the 5th graders and to commemorate their years at Ainsworth.
5th Grade Kickball Game: An annual graduation tradition, the 5th graders take on the whole Ainsworth teaching staff in a game of kickball. The entire school turns out to watch and cheer on their chosen team.

Holiday Home Tour:
An annual tradition for more than 20 years and one of the biggest PTA fundraisers. This mid-December event features five Ainsworth neighborhood homes, decorated for the holidays, for daytime and evening tours accompanied by a Holiday Gift Show in the gymnasium. Tickets go on sale in late November.
New Family Welcome: Incoming Kindergarten families are invited to meet both their new teachers and their new classmates in a small, informal setting, before the first day of school. Families enjoy popsicles and gather around for story-telling and information-sharing, which eases the transition to Elementary school.

Red Ball Auction:
An evening event for Ainsworth parents and their guests which includes a silent auction (donated by parents and local businesses), a catered dinner featuring a live auction of big-ticket items and class-created art projects, followed by dancing to a live band. Usually held on a Saturday evening in February, RedBall is sponsored by the Ainsworth Foundation and is one of the largest fundraisers of the year.

Run For The Arts:
Sponsored by , which has brought arts to schools since 1958, this is a valuable program that benefits all of the children at Ainsworth in the area of the arts (dance, drama, music, and visual arts). Last year, Young Audiences brought artists to over 100,000 students at participating schools. Each year, students, teachers and school staff gather sponsors and then run/walk laps around the back field. Most earn a cool tee-shirt with the opportunity for other prizes.

Samba:
Brian Davis from the 国产真实迷奸 band Pink Martini founded the Ainsworth Jr. Escola, a samba band. Fifth graders practice Brazilian carnival music weekly and perform at several events culminating with the Junior Rose Parade in June.

Special Persons’ Day:
Each year a day is designated for children to invite a special family member or friend to enjoy the classroom experience.

Talent Show:
A favorite Ainsworth tradition, sponsored by the PTA, with performances of all kinds by students from every grade level. This two-night show, usually held during February, is open to Ainsworth students of all ages and abilities.

Teacher Appreciation:
Also includes a tea and a dinner at a local house, on days when teachers are involved in planning sessions or doing back-to-back parent-teacher conferences.
Wreath Sale: This fundraiser features evergreen wreaths and garlands crafted by a local nursery, with all proceeds supporting the PTA.
