  • In the Medical Professions course, students explore various careers in outpatient healthcare and gain fundamental medical skills. The course also offers transferrable dual college credit and industry recognized certification. Students will have the opportunity to choose and observe clinical experiences, and sometimes assist, in areas they are interested in.

     

    What Do we Do?

     

    The Medical Professions major is a hands-on class using a medical assistant curriculum. Students learn and practice various medical procedures under teacher supervision and in clinical settings. Please click on links below to learn about each aspect of the class. 

    Core Curriculum of the Class:

    • : Prepare for and earn certification as a medical assistant to work in healthcare immediately after graduation.

    • : Gain credits in Anatomy and Physiology and Medical Terminology through PCC. Credits are transferable to any 4-year university.

    • : Choose and observe different clinical settings to understand healthcare career growth.
